Mark Andreas (American), 1 Month Residency:
To develop and exhibit a new piece in his Reactive Sculpture series (Sept)
To activly engage the community of Berlin in experiencing Public Art (Sept)

In July of '05, Mark Andreas had his first exhibit at Dam, Stuhltrager Gallery with SEED SPEADER and was immediately picked up for his first museum exhibit at the CAC in North Adams, MA. Mark Andreas his artistic debut, Mark Andreas' has exhibited and performed at The Flamingo Garden (Miami). Home & Garden House with Socrates Sculpture Garden (Hamptons), the New Jersey Art Council and the University of Tenessee. His work has been shown internationally in Shift (Basel) and earlier this year, Andreas was invited by The Farm Foundation to go an expedition to the Arctic Circle to create a new piece based on his experience.

Project Summary: The Reactive Sculpture built at RSP will be 15' circumference and will about 10' tall. Three wood arms triggered into a movement by a natural catalyst will very slowly close like a flower at night.

Kathleen Vance (American), 3 week Collaboration with RSP:
To develop a site specificPublic Art installation (Aug)
To activly engage the community of Berlin in experiencing Public Art (Aug)

Kathleen Vance has traveled to work on site specific installations for the past seven years. After receiving a Haskel travel grant she went to Iceland. A grant from the Brooklyn Arts council, in conjunction with the Cyprus Hill Development Corporation, aided a community project in East New York. A grant alloted Vance the ability to participate in ‘Emerge 7’, run by Aljira in conjunction with Creative Capital Foundation. Most recently, Vance was awarded a grant from the Puffin Foundation. Vance is a member of the Sculptors guild.

While at RSP, Vance will be creating an environmentally based sculpture with collected, natural materials from Grunewald forest, one of the largest forests in Berlin.

Anna Frants & CYLAND, Daniil Frants (July 2010)

Anna Frants (Russian), Month Collaboration with RSP:
To develop a relationship between RSP and Russian New Media Collective CYLAND (July)
To exhibit at 6 new installations at RSP in the exhibit “220V” (July)

Anna Frants is the co-founder of CYLAND and founder of The St Petersburg Art Project. She is the co-founder and co-curator of Russia largest New Media festival, “Cyberfest”, which is held annually in St Petersburg. In 2009, her art was included in exhibits worldwide, including The St Petersburg Biennial and The Moscow Biennial.

While in Residency at RSP, Ms Frants co-organized public programming at RSP. Her twelve year old son, Daniil Frants, led groups of children in Neukölln and Kreuzberg in a hands on tutorial where each child made their own robot character.

Ryan Wolfe has done Public Projects at e-Halle for Art Basel (Basel), The Oriental Pearl Tower (Shanghai), The Hermitage Museum (St Petersburg) and The Convention Center (Istanbul). He is scheduled to create an installation at The Arsenal Building (Kiev), to return to the Hermitage Museum (St Petersburg) and create commissioned piece for the city of Vienna this Fall.
